Narkoojee
Gippsland, Victoria
Narkoojee vineyard is situated at Glengarry, 15kms north of Traralgon. The vines are planted on deep, fertile alluvial soil comprising various mixtures of clay, silts, sand and ironstone gravels. Vines are trained to a Lyre trellis, which increases the exposure of the fruit to ensure optimum quality.

Trafalga Chardonnay 2004
The grapes for this wine are from Hasthorpe's vineyard at Trafalgar in West Gippsland . The grapes were picked in late April. The wine is rich with a lively acidity, with a bouquet of citrus marmalade with hints of tobacco.

Lily Grace Chardonnay 2004
This wine is vintaged from younger estate plantings and is named after our first grandchild Lily Grace Friend. Vintage conditions in 2004 were very cool and the grapes were picked in late April and early May. The wine shows excellent acidity with beautiful, delicate melon fruit characters.
 
 
Yorkie's Gully Rose 2004
 
  Named after a perennial watercourse feature that runs through the property, this wine is a rosé style, made from a blend of cabernet, merlot and pinot noir juice, fermented off skins. It shows lovely cherry fruit characters with delicate spices. It has a clean, crisp acid finish and may be served slightly chilled .  

  Cabernet Sauvignon 2003  
  The grapes were picked fully ripe in early May, after a warm, dry season. The wine has a striking nose with pronounced chocolate overtones, while blackberry and dark plum dominate the palate.  

  Athelstan Merlot 2003  
  The small yield from the first vintage of a block planted in 1998 was blended in with fruit from our older merlot plantings, for this wine. A pronounced cinnamon spice dominates the nose, while mulberry and black plum fruits enrich the palate.  

  Myrtle Point Shiraz 2004  
  The grapes for this wine are from Lightfoot's Myrtle Point Vineyard near Bairnsdale in East Gippsland . The mild conditions produced grapes with rich flavours and good acidity creating a bouquet of black plums with black pepper and spicy oak.
